Hey everyone! Thanks so much for being here and taking the time to read!
As you may have noticed, I’m currently in the process of migrating things over to this site from CG and getting everything set up. It’s a bit of a work in progress, so please bear with me while I move things around, fix things up, and slowly get everything where it needs to be!
Another little note: at the moment, this site is being funded entirely out of the owner’s pocket. Keeping everything running does come with some costs, so if you enjoy the site and would like to help support it, donations are always very much appreciated. 💛
Thanks for sticking around while I get everything settled, and I hope you enjoy the site! 🙂
Chapter 81: Horny only for Beibei

Case Five: The Law of Causality
“Ouch ouch ouch!”
He Yixun tried to pull out, but the reproductive chamber contracted painfully in response, clamping down tighter the more he struggled. Xu Pei was in so much pain he bit down on He Yixun’s forearm, leaving clear teeth marks.
A certain someone who had had his fun seemed to finally grasp the seriousness of the situation. “It couldn’t really be stuck, could it?”
“I told you so!” Xu Pei was so angry his heart ached.
The top priority was to stabilize his pheromone levels quickly. However, the blocker was completely ineffective. Xu Pei had no choice but to take an unorthodox approach. He picked up the internal phone on the desk and asked the crew if anyone had a blocker charger.
Fortunately, the plane was stocked with such emergency items.
Xu Pei and He Yixun straightened their clothes and sat properly on the chair. From the doorway, it just looked like one person sitting intimately in the other’s lap. Little did anyone know they were connected tightly in an unseen place, like Lego bricks.
Soon, a knock sounded at the door. Xu Pei tensed up, clamping down on He Yixun, who frowned, “Don’t squeeze me, Beibei.”
“Shut up,” Xu Pei whispered. Even though the spot couldn’t be seen from the door, he still pulled down his shirt hem, covering his bottom thoroughly. “Come in.”
As Xu Pei had requested, the person delivering the charger was a beta flight attendant. She pushed the door open, saw the two sitting stacked together, froze for a moment, then, adhering to her professional training, schooled her expression and said, “Mr. Xu, the charger you requested.”
“Mm.” His voice came out a bit sticky. Xu Pei coughed and said with feigned calm, “Just put it on the bed.”
The attendant placed the charger at the foot of the bed and turned to leave. But then a figure suddenly appeared at the doorway, smoothly entering the room as the attendant left.
It was Qiu Wei, holding a tablet.
…Heaven help us!
Qiu Wei was an alpha. He could smell that Xu Pei’s scent was off!
In a panic, Xu Pei’s reproductive tract contracted violently. He Yixun frowned. “Bei…”
“Secretary Qiu,” Xu Pei cut He Yixun off, taking the initiative. “Have you finished checking the surveillance?”
“Yes,” Qiu Wei said, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with his middle finger. He looked somewhat puzzled by their sitting position but didn’t comment further. “From the time you left the booth and returned to your room, Professor Xu, until the Speaker kicked the door open, the people who came to the upper deck were: Captain Sui Fei, flight attendant Ru Yun, your reporter friend here, and two guards.
“Your friend,” Qiu Wei paused here, looking at the intimately positioned pair, then continued, “and the guards were within camera view the entire time and never came to the guest cabin area. They are basically cleared of suspicion.
“Therefore, the person who attacked you is among the captain, the flight attendant, and the other five of us.
“Speaker Zhan, Professor Mo Xin, and I have no motive to attack you. You’d better investigate Ms. Sun and Dr. Zhen.”
Qiu Wei laid this all out in one breath, neatly exonerating the three people on his side.
However, Xu Pei’s focus wasn’t there.
Judging by Qiu Wei’s demeanor, he didn’t seem to have detected the indecent honey-like pheromones filling the room. Logically, even at its highest setting, his blocker shouldn’t be able to mask pheromones at this concentration.
Or had he, as a professional secretary, cultivated the ability to remain expressionless no matter what he encountered?
But Xu Pei was an A-grade omega. Leaking such highly concentrated private pheromones would affect any alpha.
Unless… Qiu Wei simply couldn’t smell them.
Xu Pei tentatively asked, “Can I ask you a personal question, Secretary Qiu?”
Qiu Wei: “What question?”
“Do you prefer alphas or omegas?”
Qiu Wei raised an eyebrow slightly, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. He didn’t answer directly and changed the subject. “Professor Xu, aren’t you two tired sitting like that? I can bring a chair from my room.”
Xu Pei’s hole tightened again. “No need. After what just happened, I feel safe only when I’m close to him.
“You haven’t answered my question, Secretary Qiu.”
He Yixun, who had been slightly turned to the side, felt Xu Pei’s tension and let out a helpless sigh, whispering in his ear, “Relax a bit.”
Xu Pei glared at He Yixun, his eyes saying: I’m the one sitting here bare-assed, okay!
You alphas have it easy—a quick fuck just means unzipping pants. Why aren’t there convenient pants for omegas to have quick sex?
“I’m an alpha, of course I prefer omegas,” Qiu Wei replied, not noticing their silent exchange. “I know you’ve heard rumors about me and the Speaker being involved, but those are just rumors.
“If the Speaker preferred alphas, he wouldn’t have proposed marriage to you.”
“Is that so?” Xu Pei sounded skeptical. “But from what I know, he has had many alpha lovers.”
“All rumors,” Qiu Wei said, proving himself a true professional working beside the Speaker—he could lie without batting an eye. The previous Speaker Zhan Yuan clearly had many lovers, including Qiu Wei himself. It was just that they had switched back to Zhan Gao now.
“I don’t see how this relates to your case, Professor Xu,” Qiu Wei added. “Whether I prefer alphas or omegas doesn’t constitute a motive, does it?”
Xu Pei didn’t think Qiu Wei had a motive to kill him. After all, he was already facing imprisonment, so killing him would only create more complications. He was just puzzled why Qiu Wei couldn’t smell the omega’s pheromones.
Since he couldn’t get any useful information, Xu Pei said, “I see. You may go back now.”
Qiu Wei closed the door behind him. Xu Pei breathed a sigh of relief and then glared at the culprit responsible for this situation. “Help me charge it now.”
The charger for the ring-shaped blocker consisted of a base and a charging dock. The dock was a cylinder, thinner at the top and wider at the bottom, adaptable to various ring sizes. Xu Pei took off the blocker, slipped it onto the charging dock, then leaned close to He Yixun’s neck to sniff. He said, puzzled, “You don’t have alpha pheromones. How could you knot?”
He Yixun wasn’t sure either. “I mentioned the first time I came that this world affects me.”
“Turns you into a pervert, you mean,” Xu Pei said, exasperated. “I think you had a pervert living inside you all along.”
“Mm,” He Yixun didn’t deny it. “Only perverted for Beibei.”
Xu Pei wasn’t used to He Yixun’s shamelessness and felt his face heat up. “You’re not allowed to call me that except when we’re doing it.”
He Yixun agreed with an “Okay.”
Xu Pei didn’t need the blocker fully charged. Once it reached just over twenty percent, he took it off the dock and put it back on his finger, setting it to full power mode—colloquially known as ‘asexual mode’. His wildly fluctuating pheromones quickly stabilized.
And as he stabilized, the restless thing inside him gradually calmed down too. The inner walls of his reproductive tract could no longer feel the throbbing of the blood vessels coiled around the massive object.
Finally, with a soft pop sound, like a suction cup detaching, their connected parts separated. Xu Pei looked back and saw He Yixun’s member was redder than he’d ever seen it, still maintaining the knotted shape, meaning the glans had formed a barb-like shape, though not as rigid as before.
Looking at the now-slumbering monster, Xu Pei clicked his tongue. “Good thing you don’t knot over there.”
He had to admit, it felt amazing, but it also really hurt.
He Yixun pondered for a moment. “Should we wait until you’re pregnant with a puppy before going back?”
Xu Pei was furious. “I’ll die if I stay here!”
He Yixun sounded regretful. “Then forget it.”
After tidying his clothes in front of the full-length mirror, Xu Pei checked the time. Only one hour remained until landing. Once descent began, people couldn’t move around freely, and solving the case would become impossible.
“We have to split up,” Xu Pei said, feeling a sense of urgency after wasting so much time. “One hour. We need to find the person who tried to murder me, and also find evidence that Zhan Gao is the S-class alpha.”
Once they landed, Xu Pei would head straight to the state government for the hearing. If they didn’t resolve these two matters on the plane, there would be no later chance. They could only leave with regrets.
“Any ideas now?” Having been satiated, someone finally returned to normal and started discussing the case.
“Zhen Li said I was assassinated, blown up, poisoned… all because I developed the stabilizer. It seems the stabilizer is the trigger,” Xu Pei recapped. “Qiu Wei said he, Zhan Gao, and Mo Xin had no reason to attack me. Let’s start with Zhan Gao. My dying on the plane would only cause trouble for him. He probably wouldn’t target me.
“Then Qiu Wei. He’s in the same camp as Zhan Gao, so he probably wouldn’t do it either. Even if he held some grievance against Zhan Gao and wanted to cause trouble, killing me would, at most, create some public trouble. What’s the necessity?
“As for Mo Xin,” Xu Pei paused here. “She doesn’t seem to have a motive either. But Zhen Li said on other timelines, she murdered me many times, so we can’t rule her out yet.”
“Not sure about your relationship with Sun Yamei,” He Yixun said. “She’s the CEO of Delan Pharmaceuticals, your mutual benefit ally. On the surface, she doesn’t seem to have a motive either.”
Only these four people were on the upper deck. Qiu Wei’s count of five included Zhen Li, but Zhen Li was the least likely to kill Xu Pei and could be directly excluded.
“That leaves the pilot and flight attendants,” Xu Pei concluded.
One hour. It was too tight.
Based on past investigative experience, just interrogating one person could take half a day. Now they had three or four suspects for Xu Pei and He Yixun to check, plus they needed to find a way to get dirt on Zhan Gao.
“Here’s the plan,” Xu Pei started. “You handle the murder case. I’ll deal with Zhan Gao.”
Zhan Gao had always disliked He Yixun and wouldn’t reveal anything to him. This task could only fall to Xu Pei.
He Yixun understood this too and said, “Okay.”
“Then you go find Sun Yamei, the pilot, and the flight attendants,” said Xu Pei. “I’ll go talk to those three.”
He Yixun didn’t agree immediately. After a moment of silence, he said, “You can’t go find Mo Xin.”
Xu Pei knew what he was thinking. “You’re afraid she’ll attack me.”
According to Zhen Li, Xu Pei’s multiple deaths in this spacetime boiled down to two reasons: developing the stabilizer, and being Zhan Gao’s fiancee. Now both factors were present, like a blade hanging over his head.
“Don’t worry,” Xu Pei said, picking up the small knife from the desk that was used in the attempt on his life. “She succeeded before because she ambushed me. I won’t give her that chance again.”

The surname is the same, just written different in pinyin (the pronunciation is still the same though) to signify the difference in characters– your translator’s stylistic choice
