Chapter 30

The two of them discussed the plot roughly and came to a general agreement on how to deal with Fang Qizhi going forward.

Basically, regardless of the actual plot situation, in front of Fang Qizhi, Chen Lu needed to act more love brain, the kind who would abandon his “kingdom” for a “beauty,” making Fang Qizhi continue to feel frustrated and be solely focused on breaking them up. 

“I wonder how long this kind of life will last,” Chen Lu sighed, thinking of Zhu Yi and then Fang Qizhi.

Chen Lu himself was actually fine. He had food, drink, and fun here. Perhaps something had happened to him during the transmigration process, but his longing for his original world was gradually fading.

Qin Guchuan looked at the timeline the story was supposed to end and the current timeline but didn’t respond to Chen Lu’s comment. However, Chen Lu didn’t really need a response and continued on his own, “I estimate it should be about two years.”

Fang Qizhi would see him, scheme to make Chen Lu fall into the swimming pool, leaving him utterly disheveled and humiliated.

——Chen Lu’s heart would collapse, feeling only darkness remained in his life. Then, Fang Qizhi’s unrestrained laughter would cut off abruptly. The next moment, with a thud, a large object would land beside Chen Lu. 

——It would be Fang Qizhi.

——Chen Lu would be stunned. Then, a long, well-defined hand would appear before his eyes, seemingly glowing with a holy light. Looking up, Chen Lu would see Qin Guchuan’s face.

——His brows would be tightly furrowed, but his eyes would be fixed only on him.

——The person who brought him pain every time was Qin Guchuan, yet the person who brought him hope every time was also Qin Guchuan. 

——It was as if all his love and hate were concentrated on Qin Guchuan alone.

——Chen Lu would hug Qin Guchuan and cry loudly. Qin Guchuan, receiving such dependence from Chen Lu for the first time, would be stunned for a long time before finally reaching out to slowly stroke Chen Lu’s back, gently comforting him. The look he gave Fang Qizhi would be like looking at a dead man.

——In the distance, Qin Guchuan’s stepmother would witness all of this. Previously indifferent to Chen Lu, she would suddenly feel a sense of crisis.

——She would realize that Qin Guchuan was playing for real, not just pretending.

This would max out the reader’s hatred towards Fang Qizhi, making it much more satisfying when the male lead, Qin Guchuan, stepped in to protect the female lead, ‘Chen Lu.’ 

All usual tropes.

Sure enough, after Chen Lu took a short nap and got up, he received an invitation passed along by the old butler.

——’Chen Lu’s’ advisor was a well-known figure in the art world, and these kinds of business banquets loved to invite him. ‘Chen Lu’ had taken a leave of absence from university due to his family situation and lost contact, but his school advisor was still concerned about him. So, he used this banquet as an opportunity to check on ‘Chen Lu,’ hoping this promising student wouldn’t waste his talent.

——’Chen Lu’ was, of course, very touched and wanted to attend. But such a high-end banquet required suitable formal wear. So, the old butler recommended a suitable shop, where ‘Chen Lu’ coincidentally ran into Fang Qizhi again. 

This was also why Chen Lu had replied decisively he would stream when Fang Qizhi urged him to.

This ID, he had Qin Guchuan check, belonged to Fang Qizhi.

I received an invitation to a banquet from… someone.” After saying this, Chen Lu deliberately paused, his eyes flickering slightly to let people speculate about who “someone” referred to, ignoring the flood of fan comments asking if ‘Tea Tea‘ was getting into a relationship.

“The banquet is quite high-end, so I need to get a suitable outfit. An elder at home recommended a shop, said many people nearby buy their clothes there. I’ll go check it out tomorrow. Hope it’s not too expensive.”
