Qin Guchuan grabbed Chen Lu’s hands, which were taking the opportunity to tickle him, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. “You just took a shower!”

The reason the bedsheet and duvet cover were in the bathroom was because they were meant to be washed.

Qin Guchuan tried to pull open the ‘sheet monster’ to reveal the person inside. Chen Lu hurriedly protected the zipper of the duvet cover, not letting Qin Guchuan undo it. “No, no, no!!! I didn’t grab any clothes earlier.”

Hearing this, Qin Guchuan’s hand froze. Looking down at Chen Lu, pressed tightly against him with only the duvet cover between them thanks to the ‘swallowing’ stunt, he didn’t know how to react.

Theoretically, it was summer. Wearing clothes was supposed to add just one more layer of fabric, nothing different from the current situation. Yet somehow, normal clothes versus a flimsy duvet cover felt completely different.

Trapped inside the cover, Chen Lu couldn’t see Qin Guchuan’s expression. But Qin Guchuan’s earlier attempt to pull him out had indeed startled him. Not daring to push his luck, he quickly hopped backward to retreat.

Then Qin Guchuan saw the ‘sheet monster,’ seemingly suffering from hyperactivity, bump its head against the wall.

    Pfft.

Qin Guchuan, who had just been having all sorts of romantic thoughts, instantly laughed out loud and felt somewhat helpless. That bump singlehandedly obliterated every amorous notion he had just nurtured.

Chen Lu was absolutely first-rate at destroying any hint of romance.

In the end, Qin Guchuan reached out and guided the clearly unskilled ‘sheet monster’ back to his room.

One minute later, a brand-new Chen Lu bounced out.

“Time to eat!” Chen Lu cheered, hopping a couple of times as if teleporting to the dining table in a flash, then letting out a surprised squeal. “Wow, a big pork knuckle today!”

    Qin Guchuan: “…..”

He felt inexplicably like his own charm wasn’t quite as impressive as a pork knuckle.

After lunch, Chen Lu saw Qin Guchuan off to his meetings. No afternoon plot had been scheduled, but after a moment’s thought, Chen Lu decided to attend classes like a normal student.

After two lessons on basic color theory, completely failing to understand anything, Chen Lu fell into deep thought.

In the original plot, the creative arts teacher had said that submitting one qualified painting was enough to pass the semester. But how did the original ‘Chen Lu’ handle all the other specialized courses?

After a pause, a look of sheer terror crossed Chen Lu’s face. He wouldn’t have to handle all the other courses himself, would he?

    World, help! Quick!

You wouldn’t want your handsome, beautiful protagonist to fail a course, would you?!

While Chen Lu was tormented by the mysteries of his major, Qin Guchuan casually glanced over the investigation report his all-purpose assistant, Zhou Ji, had sent him.

Since Fang Qizhi had cooperated fully with the plot and made no attempt to hide his actions, it was easy for Zhou Ji to uncover the whole story.

When Zhou Ji first learned that Chen Lu had been bullied at school, he was genuinely shocked. He immediately prioritized the matter and soon obtained video footage of Fang Qizhi initially locking Chen Lu in the restroom.

Watching Fang Qizhi place the ‘Under Maintenance’ sign and lock the restroom door from the outside, countless thoughts flashed through Zhou Ji’s mind.

Zhou Ji had also heard rumors about Fang Qizhi’s secret crush on Qin Guchuan and had personally witnessed just how nauseatingly sweet Qin Guchuan and Chen Lu could be.

Instinctively, dozens of wealthy family love-hate drama episodes played in Zhou Ji’s head. Then he saw Fang Qizhi, after locking the restroom door, pull out the key… and slide it back under the door crack.

Zhou Ji, who had already endured multiple performances of “his boss and his substitute lover”, could only respond: “…..”

    Alright then. Understood.

The fact that he, the bodyguards, and other staff had acted alongside the boss for the plot was fine—pay was good, after all. But how did his boss convince this wealthy young master to join in?

Or was this some trendy game among the rich that commoners like him couldn’t comprehend?

    Zhou Ji’s verdict: Although I don’t understand it, I am greatly shocked.jpg

After completing the investigation, Zhou Ji expressionlessly compiled the report and sent it to his boss, only to have the email rejected.

    Zhou Ji: ?

    He tried again. Still rejected.

    Zhou Ji: ??

Staring at the rejection notice, Zhou Ji pondered for a few seconds, then finally sent other work-related information to a different email address.

    Send successful.

Zhou Ji looked at these two words, then back at the rejection notice. Although I don’t understand it, I am greatly shocked.jpg x2

After thinking for a long time, Zhou Ji concluded that his normal human brain could not comprehend his love-struck boss’s thought process, and respectfully sought guidance.

Zhou Ji: President Qin, it seems my email can’t reach your mailbox. [Image]

Qin Guchuan: If it can’t be sent, can’t you try again in five days?

The all-purpose assistant Zhou Ji instantly understood.

Zhou Ji: Then, President Qin, regarding the investigation you requested today, I’ll package it and send it to you in five days.

    Qin Guchuan: Okay.

Having such a perceptive assistant made advancing the plot surprisingly comfortable. Qin Guchuan glanced at the current time and the work before him, thought for a moment, and once again had documents moved into a car.

But this time, it wasn’t his car, it was Zhou Ji’s car.

Holding Zhou Ji’s car keys, Qin Guchuan smiled and gestured toward his own extended luxury car. “You can take my car home from work today. It’s hard to park in the garage at Chen Lu’s place.”

Hearing Qin Guchuan’s heavily hinted words, which practically screamed that he was heading to Chen Lu’s apartment, Zhou Ji, who had learned after several bonus deductions not to laugh out loud, put on a respectful expression. “Understood, President Qin. I hope you and Mr. Chen have a pleasant time together.”

Meanwhile, mentally frazzled after a day of classes, Chen Lu returned home. Seeing Qin Guchuan sitting on the sofa handling work as if he had never left, Chen Lu rubbed his eyes, doubting his own sanity.

“Is there a plot later?” After confirming it wasn’t a hallucination, Chen Lu carefully asked Qin Guchuan.

The plot in Chen Lu’s mind wasn’t finished yet. The next segment was: ‘Chen Lu’ runs out of food at home, goes to the supermarket to buy more, and then sees Qin Guchuan out shopping with Madame Feng’s niece.

——Madame Feng’s niece is holding Qin Guchuan’s arm, looking very intimate, which completely pierces ‘Chen Lu’s’ eyes.

——So ‘Chen Lu’ involuntarily loosens his grip, and the food he just bought scatters all over the floor. The gasps of the surrounding crowd draw Qin Guchuan’s attention. He turns and sees ‘Chen Lu’, hurriedly shakes off Madame Feng’s niece’s hand, and quickly walks towards ‘Chen Lu’.

——Seeing Qin Guchuan approach, ‘Chen Lu’ panics. The flustered ‘Chen Lu’ stumbles away in escape.

——What follows is a chase scene. Eventually, ‘Chen Lu’ is caught by Qin Guchuan in a deserted corner. The two have another argument, and finally, Qin Guchuan performs a ‘sealing-the-lips’ action, which is witnessed by Madame Feng’s niece, who had also been chasing them. She takes a photo and sends it to Madame Feng.

——Madame Feng is furious upon seeing it.

——’Chen Lu’ took the money and is still fooling around with Qin Guchuan! Shameless!

——Thus, the second villain joins forces with the first villain, only to be later sent off together by President Qin in one fell swoop.

Of course, the final part wasn’t part of Chen Lu’s current knowledge, it belonged to the summary Qin Guchuan had provided him earlier. Chen Lu’s knowledge only went up to the second-to-last sentence but that was enough to indicate that the next few days should be free time, with no plot involving him and Qin Guchuan scheduled.

So theoretically, Qin Guchuan should either be working overtime at the Qin Corporation or at the Qin residence working overtime… Huh? Why is he working overtime in both scenarios?

Feeling like something had slipped into his assumptions, Chen Lu’s gaze fell on the title of the document in Qin Guchuan’s hand, clearly part of his masterpiece.

    Chen Lu: “..…”

    Ahem.

“No,” Qin Guchuan said without looking up. His posture on Chen Lu’s humble sofa was no different from his stance in the Qin residence’s luxurious study, still the domineering CEO posture. In a tone that sounded completely matter-of-fact, as if casually mentioning, he said, “Your place is closer to the company.”

What kind of reason is that? Chen Lu felt like ranting internally.

Before, when Qin Guchuan got off work normally, he went straight to the Qin residence. Why wasn’t distance a problem then?

While grumbling silently, and feeling inexplicably quite happy, Chen Lu smoothly closed the apartment door. Smelling the aroma, he spotted the sumptuous dinner already laid out on the table. He instantly attributed his happiness to the food, letting out a cry of amazement.

“Did you make all this?” Chen Lu circled the dining table several times, exclaiming repeatedly at the feast. Then he bounced to the sofa, and with deep affection and gentle movements, took Qin Guchuan’s hand holding the pen, saying in an overly sentimental tone, “Darling, you can stay in this home as long as you want from now on. My bed will always have a spot for you.”

    Qin Guchuan, listening: “…”

“The aunties in the neighborhood made it,” Qin Guchuan said, looking down at Chen Lu, his tone merciless. “They’re very grateful to me for sacrificing myself for your artistic endeavors. They think it’s truly not easy to act out this kind of script, and told me to eat more to replenish myself.”

    Chen Lu: “…”

    Chen Lu: “……..”

He felt a righteous indignation, as if all the pranks he had thrown at the world were now coming back to hit him.

This garbage script really wasn’t written by him!

His pranks were always very classy, okay!!! (?)

Seeing the expression on Chen Lu’s face, Qin Guchuan smiled and couldn’t resist pinching that woeful-looking cheek. “I’m kidding.”

“Qin! Gu! Chuan!” Chen Lu flew at him, hands and feet flailing.

The big villain Qin laughed, accepting Chen Lu’s ‘punishment,’ squinting as he caught the younger man in a full embrace.
