Hey everyone! Thanks so much for being here and taking the time to read!

As you may have noticed, I’m currently in the process of migrating things over to this site from CG and getting everything set up. It’s a bit of a work in progress, so please bear with me while I move things around, fix things up, and slowly get everything where it needs to be!

Another little note: at the moment, this site is being funded entirely out of the owner’s pocket. Keeping everything running does come with some costs, so if you enjoy the site and would like to help support it, donations are always very much appreciated. 💛

Thanks for sticking around while I get everything settled, and I hope you enjoy the site! 🙂

Could a fierce ghost… also possess something like an appetite?

This question flashed through Bai Qing’s mind, but he could find no answer. And as for Jing Liansheng, he was both ignorant of and indifferent to the answer.

With his young master temperament and the power of a Great Fierce, there was no need to delve into the roots of the matter; he needed only to act according to his own inclinations. Without hesitation, he bared his fangs, pressing directly towards Bai Qing’s forcibly upturned neck.

Bai Qing, forced to hold his head high, couldn’t see the fierce ghost’s expression.

But his fragile, sensitive throat could perceive a wave of Yin-cold breath drawing near, the fierce ghost’s teeth gliding over his skin. His fingers curled slightly, their tips brushing the hem of Jing Liansheng’s clothes. He wanted to grab onto something, yet dared not exert force.

An existence like a living corpse, neither truly alive nor dead, was not entirely invulnerable. Living corpses rely on drawing spiritual energy from the world to maintain their broken, fragile life form.

Once the spiritual energy is exhausted, the living corpse will rapidly decay like a dehydrated flower, turning into a desiccated, soulless husk. Logically, a living corpse as exquisitely refined as Bai Qing shouldn’t easily lose spiritual energy. Even after being buried for years on a desolate mountain, he remained abundant with it, so much so that with a little repair from his Shifu, he could revive.

Generally, Bai Qing didn’t need to worry about spiritual energy depletion…

However, the current situation was not general.

The Great Fierce Ghost baring its fangs before him was precisely the kind of terrifying existence capable of sucking a living corpse dry of its spiritual energy.

Could it be… Jing Liansheng was provoked into a greed akin to appetite because he smelled the abundant spiritual energy within Bai Qing?

After all, spiritual energy is a highly attractive nutrient for all ghostly entities.

A Great Fierce is also a ghostly entity.

The skin of Bai Qing’s throat trembled under the sharp fangs, like a lamb beneath the butcher’s knife, awaiting being devoured this second or the next. If Jing Liansheng’s teeth advanced just an inch, they would pierce his skin. A living corpse has no blood, but the surging spiritual energy would follow the meridians, drawn into the Great Fierce’s cold lips. Then, he would wither like a flower drained of moisture.

    Bai Qing trembled.

But he found he wasn’t afraid.

Being bitten, gnawed, sucked dry by Jing Liansheng…

Didn’t frighten him in the least.

His trembling was driven by another kind of instinct.

He lifted his neck higher, even pulling open his shirt buttons with one hand, saying with intense emotion, “Come! Eldest Young Master! Come, eat me!”

This outburst was too emotionally charged, his voice too strident, abruptly jolting Jing Liansheng out of his confused appetite. Seeing Bai Qing tear open his chest and shout “Welcome to taste, remember to give a five-star review,” even the Yin-Malevolent Great Fierce was shocked into retreating step by step.

Jing Liansheng retracted his fangs and released Bai Qing.

Bai Qing looked puzzled. “Didn’t you say I was delicious? Not going to eat me?”

Jing Liansheng: “I do nott wish to contract madness.”

Bai Qing muttered disappointedly, “I was thinking, if you bit me, your yin energy would merge into my body, and my spiritual energy would transfer into your ghostly form… That way, rounding up, it would count as… exchan—”

Jing Liansheng immediately cut off the word he was about to say, “Please do not utter that word.”

Having faced heavenly thunderbolts, Taoist master sieges, and desperate situations without fear, Jing Liansheng never thought: I fear neither heaven nor earth, but I fear a living corpse spouting flirtatious nonsense.

Bai Qing pouted helplessly. “Fine, I respectfully obey the Eldest Young Master’s command.”

As he spoke, Bai Qing tilted his head, assessing Jing Liansheng. His hair hadn’t been properly tied before the “you smell so good” incident, so it was still somewhat messy.

Bai Qing stepped forward, reaching out to tidy Jing Liansheng’s hair.

But Jing Liansheng slightly shifted his body, avoiding the touch, his tone carrying a chill, “You really aren’t afraid of me.”

“Is that news?” Bai Qing smiled, stretching both hands towards Jing Liansheng’s back as if giving him an unguarded embrace, “Didn’t you know that the first time we met?”

Jing Liansheng stared fixedly as Bai Qing’s face drew closer: that familiar face, that unfamiliar expression…

The highly attractive fragrance assailed his nostrils again, silently teasing his nerves.

But this time, Jing Liansheng was prepared, barely steadying his mind, maintaining his expression of unrippled indifference, not letting his desire show easily.

Although, as the tip of his nose brushed Bai Qing’s hair, his Adam’s apple rolled uncontrollably. Bai Qing didn’t know that his proximity could make this seemingly icy, indifferent Great Fierce crave him so desperately.

    Fortunately, he didn’t know.

Otherwise, wouldn’t he stew himself in an iron pot, steam his perky butt, deep-fry his old living corpse, just to let Jing Liansheng experience what “the temptation of a mature man” felt like?

After tying Jing Liansheng’s hair, Bai Qing said, “Now going out shouldn’t feel so discordant.”

Jing Liansheng touched his high-ponytailed hair, as if adapting to his new look. Bai Qing rubbed his hands together, his face full of expectation. “So, where shall we go next? Should we buy some new clothes first?”

He felt that shopping together was a date.

“Since we already have clothes, why acquire more?” Jing Liansheng was clearly uninterested in such grooming matters, “Might as well visit the Shifu you mentioned first.”

“Visit him?” Bai Qing felt a bit embarrassed, “Actually, I’ve already received your family’s bride price… You don’t need to specially come propose formally.”

Jing Liansheng replied indifferently, “Good, I had no such intention anyway.”

Bai Qing’s eyes widened. “Then why are you going to see him?”

Jing Liansheng said, “Didn’t you say your Shifu is Ying Zhili’s fellow sect disciple, and he has the same texts? Let’s go take a look.”

Originally, it was nothing, but when Bai Qing heard the word “we,” he already considered it a sweet nothing. It warmed his entire corpse, making him grin foolishly instantly, nodding vigorously. “Mm!”

The Bai Qing who was as docile as a little lamb before the fierce ghost young master left the west wing already carrying the airs of the great-grandmother. Arriving at the main house, he very naturally started ordering the old butler around, instructing, “The Eldest Young Master and I are going out. Prepare a car.”

Hearing that the Eldest Young Master was going out, the old butler was dumbfounded. “The Eldest Young Master… is going out?”

Bai Qing picked up the jade cicada in his hand, gently shook it, and smiled, “Could this be false?”

The old butler, who had previously been polite yet haughty, became as meek as a beaten dog upon seeing the jade cicada. He lowered his head and said, “Yes, Mr. Bai.” Then, hesitantly, he asked, “Then… shall we arrange a driver?”

Bai Qing shook his head. “No need, I’ll drive.”

“Alright.” The butler acknowledged and prepared to leave.

Bai Qing called him back, “And also…”

The butler quickly halted, his expression respectful. “What other instructions?”

Bai Qing said: “The west wing is a bit old. Having no electricity is one thing, to preserve the old building, but it really should have WiFi coverage.”

The butler’s pupils earthquake again. “The Eldest Young Master surfs the internet too?”

Bai Qing observed the butler’s reaction, suspecting that the butler also knew the Eldest Young Master was a ghost. But Bai Qing still didn’t understand: What, ghosts don’t need to go online? It seems the butler is also old-fashioned and behind the times. Technology has advanced now. Ghosts need to keep up with the times too.

I heard there’s a malevolent spirit called Sadako in that island country, very fierce. Their masters couldn’t subdue her, but she’s disappeared in recent years because no one watches videotapes anymore. Exorcising evil and suppressing malevolence still relies on technological innovation.

Now, having suddenly become the Eldest Young Master’s spokesperson, the old butler didn’t dare raise any objections and could only obediently handle the matters. Soon, a luxury car was ready, its lines sleek, the interior opulent—the kind of car no one dares to cut off even if it’s going 20 mph.

Having been exploited by his Shifu for years, Bai Qing had, of course, also worked as a driver.

He skillfully got into the driver’s seat, started the engine, and the car smoothly drove out of the Jing family gate. While driving, he frequently glanced at Jing Liansheng in the back seat via the rearview mirror.

Jing Liansheng still sat upright, his expression stern, gazing out the window, not showing the curiosity of an antique towards new technology, as if indifferent to everything around him.

The car soon arrived at the building where Bai Qing’s Shifu lived.

Bai Qing parked, got out, walked around to the back, and respectfully opened the door. “We’re here, it’s upstairs.” He pointed upwards, his tone somewhat relaxed, “The one that’s the haunted household.”

As a Great Fierce, Jing Liansheng could naturally sense which unit was the haunted house. He slightly raised his eyes. “Your Shifu lives in a haunted house?”

“Because there’s no rent.” Bai Qing explained while leading Jing Liansheng to the elevator.

    Jing Liansheng said, “He’s poor?”

    “He’s stingy.” Bai Qing clarified.

    Jing Liansheng: …Incomprehensible.

Soon, Bai Qing and Jing Liansheng arrived outside the door. Before Bai Qing’s hand could touch the doorbell, the door was suddenly pulled open, revealing Shifu’s figure. When his gaze fell on Jing Liansheng’s face, Shifu’s eyes shone brightly, like a weasel spotting a chicken.

Bai Qing stepped in front of Jing Liansheng. “Shifu, you’re too enthusiastic, you’ll scare the Eldest Young Master!”

Shifu said, “Never heard of a living person scaring a fierce ghost, let alone a legendary Great Fierce?” As he spoke, Shifu eagerly greeted Jing Liansheng, “Please come in, Mr. Jing, please, come in.”

Although Jing Liansheng was accustomed to being the center of attention in life, after death he had always been an entity feared by Taoist masters. He had never been received like this by a master before, and couldn’t help feeling somewhat suspicious.

Bai Qing stood on tiptoe and whispered in Jing Liansheng’s ear, “Shifu wants to use you for a research topic.”

This was the second time Bai Qing had been this close to Jing Liansheng. Normally, Jing Liansheng wouldn’t allow anyone to get so close.

But Bai Qing seemed to be an exception.

Perhaps it was because Bai Qing was a living corpse, usually without breath or heartbeat, so when he quietly drew near, Jing Liansheng hadn’t detected it at all. That scent from Bai Qing flooded Jing Liansheng’s nostrils again, inexplicably making his ghostly form tremble, as if his non-existent heart had fiercely beat twice.

This aura carried an indescribable allure, stirring a feeling in Jing Liansheng he had never experienced before—a craving similar to appetite, yet deeper and more complex than mere hunger.

It was this special reaction that had nearly caused Jing Liansheng to lose control earlier, almost harming Bai Qing’s body.

With the previous experience as a warning, Jing Liansheng was no longer as caught off guard as before. He narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression carrying an air of calm composure. However, only he knew that deep inside, an indescribable desire was stirring restlessly.

He used his own reason to suppress this impulse, not letting a shred of it leak out.

Seeing Jing Liansheng press his lips together in silence, Bai Qing thought he simply didn’t understand what “opening a research topic” meant. He thus launched into a serious explanation, “The metaphysical world nowadays is no longer the era of sects. Now, everyone emphasizes academic exchange and research collaboration, all busy opening topics, conducting research, striving to publish high-level papers in the field of metaphysics, enhancing their academic status and influence…”

Bai Qing was this close to him, eyes bright, still chattering away with foolish words, like a little bird unknowingly approaching a tiger’s mouth.

Inevitably, Jing Liansheng felt something subtle and strange: he was completely unafraid of him.

Whether it was Bai Qing having known his identity as the Great Fierce from the start, or later displaying the power and potential to easily obliterate him, or even the recent close call when he nearly lost control and clamped his teeth on Bai Qing’s neck—none of it elicited the slightest fear.

Not only was he unafraid, but was also fervently enamored.

The emotion was undeniably both alien and shocking to Jing Liansheng, who was so accustomed to being feared and shunned by the world.

He pressed his lips together slightly, judging inwardly: Indeed, a little living corpse with a severe brain disorder.

Bai Qing muttered again quietly, “Back then, Shifu used me for research and published a paper on living corpses. It quickly caused a sensation in academic circles. According to incomplete statistics, that paper has been cited over 1000 times to date—a number that’s practically astronomical in the metaphysics field. Moreover, it was republished by several authoritative journals…”

Muttering these academic terms, Bai Qing also understood Jing Liansheng probably wouldn’t grasp them. So he changed tack, summarizing, “In short, he’s already tasted success by using me, a relatively rare living corpse, as a case study. If he could get a legendary-level ghost like you as a case, wouldn’t he just take off.”

A flicker of surprise passed through Jing Liansheng’s eyes, clearly finding the current state of the metaphysical world hard to believe. “So, Taoist masters nowadays should be vying for me? I thought a ghost like me would be hounded by everyone.”

“What era is this? Love and peace, pluralistic respect. Although the traditionalists might still be wary of high-level ghosts, the mainstream now emphasizes diversity and inclusivity.” Bai Qing paused, then continued explaining, “Actually, many masters and researchers nowadays are eager to access special and rare ghost cases like yours. So, you really don’t need to worry about becoming a target for all. On the contrary, many masters and researchers might compete to collaborate with you.”

Jing Liansheng also sighed inwardly, times truly have changed, ghosts have become coveted treasures.

Thinking this, Jing Liansheng looked up at the evil spirit swaying on the fan, barely emitting any cool air. “What about him?”

Shifu took the initiative to answer, “This evil spirit harmed the innocent, so of course he must be taught a lesson.” Of course, besides wanting free cooling, Shifu had kept him around for a research topic on evil spirit resentment cooling efficiency.

Shifu stared unblinkingly at Jing Liansheng. This was indeed the most special ghostly form he had seen in all his years, truly worthy of a legendary-level ghostly entity!

This probing gaze easily provoked Jing Liansheng’s displeasure.

He did not like being treated like a lab rat.

He cast a cold glance at Shifu.

Shifu, pricked by this intangible eye knife, immediately curbed his expression, forcing a smile. “But in reality, I wouldn’t dare presume to ask you to condescend to be my research subject.”

Shifu had no plans to use this Great Fierce for a topic. For Shifu, compared to his love for academia, his love for life was stronger. Therefore, he only studied subjects he could control, like the resentful spirit hanging on the fan, and Bai Qing, the little living corpse who completely failed to utilize the abundant spiritual power within himself.

Looking at Shifu’s fawning face, Jing Liansheng said, “Speaking of which, you and Ying Zhili are from the same sect?”

“One could say that.” Shifu didn’t expect Jing Liansheng to suddenly bring up Ying Zhili and replied somewhat stiffly, “However, we each have our own cultivation paths and haven’t seen each other for years.”

Getting back to the main point, Bai Qing also took out The Canon of Yin-Yang Rites. “Does this belong to Shibo?”

Shifu took The Canon, flipped through it briefly, frowned and said, “This… where did you get it?”

Bai Qing told Shifu everything Madam Jing had said, then furrowed his brow. “It’s really strange. Ying-shibo said the Yang-damaging actions were Madam Jing’s own idea, but Madam Jing said it was Ying-shibo who instructed her…” After speaking, Bai Qing looked up at Shifu, “Shifu, what do you think?”

Shifu pondered for a moment, the look on his face then dissipating as he smiled and said, “You’re asking me this question? I actually have an idea!”

“Is that so?” Bai Qing’s eyebrows rose slightly, his eyes showing surprise mixed with a touch of delight. “Shifu, please enlighten us.”

Shifu smiled. “The answer is, neither of them lied.”

“Neither lied?” Bai Qing was momentarily stunned, his brows gently knitting as he tried to process this information.

Shifu nodded, his gaze shifting to meet Jing Liansheng’s. Jing Liansheng lowered his eyes slightly, and after a moment, understood. “Ying Zhili is amusing himself at others’ expense again.”

Hearing this, a light seemed to turn on in Bai Qing’s mind, recalling what Jing Liansheng had said about Ying Zhili’s “unsavory hobby.”

Bai Qing said, “Eldest Young Master, you’ve always communicated with the Jing family through Ying Zhili, correct?”

    “Yes,” Jing Liansheng replied.

Bai Qing continued, “When Madam Jing learned you wanted a ghost marriage but you didn’t give specific instructions, she would definitely ask for details. And Ying-shibo, with his peculiar twisted sense of humor…”

Shifu listened, nodding repeatedly. “Ying Zhili’s character is truly despicable…”

It was precisely because Shifu knew Ying Zhili all too well that he could quickly deduce an answer close to the truth. “I don’t need divination to guess he must have deliberately been vague, simply giving Madam Jing The Canon of Yin-Yang Rites, intentionally placing her in a moral dilemma. He probably adopted a leisurely attitude, like watching a ‘human observation variety show,’ observing how Madam Jing faced it all, how she chose, how she agonized.”

As he spoke, Shifu could almost picture Ying Zhili’s expression. Shifu spread his hands. “If it ever came to a confrontation, Ying Zhili could still play innocent and deflect. ‘She asked, so I lent her the book to broaden her knowledge. But I never told her to do such Yin-damaging things. It was all her own choice, a single thought becoming demonic.’”

Jing Liansheng agreed with Shifu’s reasoning. “I’m afraid that’s exactly it.”

Although Bai Qing had barely guessed it, he truly hadn’t expected the answer to be so… mundane.

He found it slightly hard to believe. “Did Ying-shibo never consider he might get someone killed by doing this?”

Shifu said, “He’s an amoral scumbag without humanity.”

Bai Qing: ….Don’t say something like that in such a lighthearted tone!

Looking momentarily at his unscrupulous Shifu, then thinking about his degenerate Shibo, Bai Qing couldn’t help but ask, “Shifu, is our sect really a reputable orthodox school?”

Hearing this, Shifu was displeased. “What do you mean? Although our sect produced a wolf in sheep’s clothing like my Shi-ge, it doesn’t mean our entire sect has problems.”

The corner of Bai Qing’s mouth twitched. “A reputable orthodox school can certainly produce scoundrels, but it shouldn’t only produce scoundrels.”

Shifu was also stumped. He glared at Bai Qing annoyed, finally seeming to concede with a sigh. “Actually, Ying Zhili and I were expelled from the sect many years ago.”

Hearing this, Bai Qing breathed a sigh of relief: …Then it probably really is a reputable orthodox sect.

Jing Liansheng, however, seemed interested. “Might I ask which esteemed sect you hail from? Perhaps I’ve heard of it.”

“Since I’ve been expelled, I shouldn’t speak of it anymore.” Shifu’s gaze grew distant, as if recalling events from long ago.

This was the first time Bai Qing had seen such a quasi-literary youth expression on his usually worldly and shrewd Shifu’s face. However, Shifu quickly withdrew this ill-timed emotion.

He smiled faintly and said to Jing Liansheng, “Young Master Jing, did you come here just to ask about this matter?”

Jing Liansheng replied, “I have suspicions about Ying Zhili’s origins. Hearing from Bai Qing that you and Ying Zhili are fellow disciples, I wished to inquire. However, if this involves past events you’d rather not mention, I naturally won’t press.”

Shifu nodded gently. “In truth, my knowledge of him is also limited, and mostly old news. I’m afraid I can’t provide much clarification.”

Bai Qing timely interjected, asking Jing Liansheng, “Eldest Young Master, you’re not familiar with Ying-shibo either? Then why did you choose him as your spokesperson to communicate with the Jing family?”

Jing Liansheng’s face darkened instantly, his eyes sweeping over Bai Qing with a piercing chill, sharp as a knife, piercing to the heart. This was likely another warning to Bai Qing: Rein in your curiosity!

Bai Qing, knowing his place, cupped his hands respectfully. “My mistake, my mistake, I shouldn’t have spoken out of turn.”

Jing Liansheng coldly withdrew his gaze.

Unlike Bai Qing, Shifu seemed utterly devoid of curiosity about all this. In fact, he seemed somewhat avoidant, clearly viewing the Jing family as a visibly large pit he wanted no part of.

Thus, after a few pleasantries, Shifu said, “I haven’t finished my research on evil spirit resentment as a new energy source, so I won’t keep you two longer.”

Hearing Shifu’s dismissive words, Jing Liansheng immediately rose to take his leave. Bai Qing also followed behind Jing Liansheng. Before leaving, he looked back at Shifu and said, “I’ll head off then, then.”

Shifu’s gaze swept between Bai Qing and Jing Liansheng, noticing the unconcealable admiration in Bai Qing’s eyes when he looked at Jing Liansheng. He couldn’t help but sigh softly inwardly.

He shook his head slightly, thinking to himself: I’m afraid my disciple is done for.

He waved his hand quite sentimentally. “Go on, go on. If anything happens, your master will burn paper money for you. The funeral expenses will be deducted from the wages you have deposited with me.”

Bai Qing: …..Every time I doubt if my own stinginess is too cheap, I’m grateful for your existence.

Before going downstairs, Bai Qing took the sunscreen from his pocket and said to Jing Liansheng with a smile, “Eldest Young Master, let’s reapply a bit. The sun is vicious.”

As he spoke, he was about to squeeze some out and gesture applying it to Jing Liansheng’s face. Jing Liansheng clearly disliked this sticky texture and frowned slightly. Seeing this, Bai Qing immediately withdrew his hand, his face still smiling, his tone light. “No matter, we can use an umbrella instead. I put the large black umbrella in the car trunk before we left, thinking it might come in handy.”

Jing Liansheng looked somewhat surprised and said, “You think quite thoroughly.”

Although Jing Liansheng’s tone was emotionless, to Bai Qing’s ears, it was high praise. He smiled, his eyes curving, a hint of pride in his tone. “Eldest Young Master, picking me up was truly finding a treasure! Whether it’s someone strange like Ying-shibo, or the living bride you originally planned to spend a fortune on, none could be as thoughtful, meticulous, and caring as me, right?”

Jing Liansheng rarely didn’t refute this self-praise, merely glanced at him indifferently.

Seeing this, Bai Qing’s heart felt even more blissful, his tail was practically wagging up to the sky.

Now even more motivated, Bai Qing reached the downstairs and had Jing Liansheng wait in the shadows of the stairwell. “Mustn’t let the sun get my Eldest Young Master.”

Having said that, he himself rushed into the blazing sun without hesitation, quickly walking to the car parked nearby and opening the trunk. He swiftly took out a large, long-handled black umbrella, then hurried back, holding the umbrella high to shield Jing Liansheng from the scorching sunlight. “Eldest Young Master, please.”

This series of actions was full of sycophantic zeal, yet performed naturally and smoothly, as if perfectly natural.

Watching Bai Qing, with that face of the person from the past, acting so servile, Jing Liansheng felt a twinge of discomfort. His brows slightly furrowed, his tone cold. “I didn’t ask you here to be a servant.”

Bai Qing blinked, secretly delighted inwardly, but deliberately putting on an innocent, naive expression. “Ah? No? Did I remember wrong? Ah! I remember now, I’m here to be the bride.”

Having said this, without waiting for Jing Liansheng’s reaction, he boldly reached out and gently linked his arm with Jing Liansheng’s, asking with a smile, “Shall we walk together, then?”

Jing Liansheng’s slightly softened attitude immediately hardened again at this unexpected physical contact. He didn’t speak, didn’t even move a finger, but merely willed it, and a biting coldness emanated from his arm, needling Bai Qing’s presumptuously linked hand like pins.

Bai Qing shuddered and sharply retracted his hand. …Tsk, too aggressive.

To conquer this icy Great-Grandfather, I need to take it slow, or I’ll get frozen. There’s no specific medicine for a living corpse catching a cold.

Bai Qing’s face showed no sign of discomfort from the cold. Instead, he directed an even brighter smile at Jing Liansheng. “How about we stroll around nearby, see what’s new in the human world?”

Although Jing Liansheng always appeared aloof, indifferent to everything, at this moment, the very slight lift of his eyebrow betrayed that he wasn’t entirely uninterested in the human world he’d left behind a century ago. He gave a slight nod, agreeing to Bai Qing’s suggestion.

Bai Qing was secretly overjoyed. Strolling under a shared umbrella—isn’t that a date?

Of course, Jing Liansheng still maintained an attitude of keeping the corpse at a thousand li’s distance, surrounded by an intangible wall of ice that made it difficult for Bai Qing, this fragile little living corpse, to get close.

Especially after Bai Qing’s presumptuous arm-linking attempt, Jing Liansheng now held an additional degree of aloofness towards him. Bai Qing thought: This won’t do. I can’t let the favor I earned through my obsequious umbrella-holding get deducted like this.

Of course, he couldn’t be abrupt again now. Otherwise, if this Great Fierce got displeased, he might teleport him to the outskirts again. That itself wasn’t the main issue, but walking back in the heat was pure torture for a corpse, and taking a car back would cost another ten bucks.

    And that’s ten whole yuan!!!

Do you know what ten yuan means???

    It means ten yuan!!!

Bai Qing’s eyes darted, and an idea formed in his mind. He stopped trying to get closer to Jing Liansheng. Instead, he deliberately shifted half a step outward, making himself look like an assistant holding an umbrella for a celebrity, with most of his body exposed to the fierce sun.

It was summer, midday. The sunlight pouring down was full of yang energy. Although Bai Qing wasn’t a ghost, he was still a yin entity. Exposed to this sunlight, of course he would feel discomfort.

However, he was already wearing long sleeves and pants, and the skin exposed to the air was slathered with a lethal dose of sunscreen, so it wasn’t actually a big deal. But he deliberately put on an expression of extreme agony, constantly rubbing his fingers—the only part exposed to the sun—as if they were burning painfully under the fierce light.

His acting was masterful. He even slightly furrowed his brows, a hint of a stubborn, aloof bitter smile playing on his lips, his gaze flickering, like a pure, innocent little white flower enduring suffering but unwilling to speak of it.
